Hotels on the cliffs in Negril
I am planning to join a group of friends staying at Tensing Pen in July. From their website it appears no vacancies for my dates. I will follow-thru by contacting them directly but would also like to ask any Negril regulars here, where else could I stay nearby if I can't get a cottage at Tensing Pen? I'd hope to keep the room price to no more than $150/night. Cheaper is better. I'm solo and don't need a fancy place, just a location close to the rest of the group. Thanks for any creative solutions. Darn I shouldn't have waited so long! kindly, Suze

Thanks for the ideas Doug. I printed off a map of the hotels along the cliffs, and have emails in to Tensing Pen and Mirage (which appears to be just next door). I know Rockhouse from past Negril trips, I'll check with them too. I also like Ixtabi but that seems like I'm getting a bit too far away from Tensing Pen, for ease in hooking up with people each day. Again, thank you!

catcha fallin star next door to Tensing Pen (Tensing so gorgeous....) and they have new-hotel like rooms that I imagine are cheap.
I like Ixtabi for the great snorkeling but you're right -- it's a long walk up and harder to pop back into your room to change or whatever.
Sucks about Tensing -- hopefully there will be a cancellation....

catcha fallin star shows no availability either. Banana Shout, Mirage, and Citronella Cottages are who I'm contacting first. With Rockhouse or Xtabi as a fall-back plan (second choice only because of the distance from Tensing Pen). Thanks fishee, thanks Doug.

Will do Doug. I feel pretty confident about it. The Trip Advisor reviews are decent, except some people didn't like "no TV and no phone" in the rooms and "the beds are hard" ... but since I mostly travel to Mexico, those things are definitely not new to me (lol). Also one TA reviewer has 9 photos posted so I could really see what the property looks like, beside their website. My contact via email for the arrangements so far has been positve.
Banana Shout, Rockhouse, Xtabi all got back to me very quickly and showed availability also.
