Sorry, Patricia, Iam unaware of any hotel in the caribbean islands or the United States that will allow someone under the age of 18 to stay in their hotel. You need to show either your passport or birthcertificate to get into another country therefore you will not be able to lie about your age. And most hotels (especially during spring break) will not rent to college kids let alone someone under the age of 18.
By Law, someone has to be over 18 and held accountable for all expenses as well as any damages to the rooms or property, which means that you will need a credit card to cover your costs.

Some hotels may allow 18 y/o, but most are 21. As for 17, they will need a guardian over 18, which means that the 18 y/o will be responsible and accountable for the actions of those younger.
Try the Quality Inn at Junkanoo/Lighthouse Beach, they may allow 18 year olds.

And don't forget, AIDS is an epidemic in the Bahamas. If your planning on partying, at least use protection.

Now, I have a question.. Are your parents allowing and your 17 y/o friends to leave the country to Party?
Geez... where are their brains.

I agree with Tara 100%. What are your parents thinking if they allow you to go out of the country without a responsible adult traveling with you? I hope this is just "wishfull thinking on your part" and that you are hoping that you will be able to convince them to allow you to go on the trip with your friends.

Don't count on it Ginger, they filmed a couple of those "Girls gone Wild" Video's in Nassau at the clubs this past spring break. Care to see your daughter in one next season? They get just as carried away in Nassau at Spring Break as anywhere else.

I am not a 35 year old professional woman who is married with a child and I went to Freeport with four girlfriends when we were in our senior year in high school. I believe some of us were 17 and some 18 years old. Wow, I can't get over how judgemental some of you are. We were all honor students, came from upper middle class families and were raised to know right from wrong. Some of you act like Patricia's parents are low-class, ignorant people. My father is an attorney and my mother a director for an insurance company.(both respectable jobs). They trusted me 100%. Anyhow, to get back to your question, I do not recall where we stayed. Is there such a place as the Freeport Inn? For some reason, that rings a bell. It was a dive, but at the age we were, we didn't care. Don't get me wrong... you def. have to watch yourself, but if you are at all street smart, you will be fine. It was also a long time ago. I hope you find a place. I do not remember anyone asking how old we were at the hotel. In this day and age,I assume one of you has a credit card since so many kids do. Enjoy your trip!

Alot has changed in 15 years. Just take a look at what goes on these day's at Spring Break around the world. Your right, we don't know these kids, but I do know about peer pressure, alcohol/date drugs and aggressive natives. 17 is just a bit too immature to be dealing with this without any supervision no matter how street smart.
