hotel suites/villas with private pool

Hello,

Does anyone know of a top resort in the Caribbean with a direct flight from NYC that has private pools with the suite/villa?

I am thinking along the lines of the Banyan Tree in Phuket or Trisara also in Phuket.

We don't travel to the Caribbean often, and I haven't found the same type of configuration that offers private pools to guests.

Thank you

The Horned Dorset Primavera, in Rincon, Puerto Rico, offers suites with private plunge pools. A couple of caveats, however. While San Juan is a direct flight from NYC, it's still a couple hours' drive from San Juan to Rincon. And as far I can tell, the plunge pools are quite small (don't know what your expectation is here).

I'm aware of several other higher-end hotels that offer pools, but they are not a direct flight from NYC. Ladera (St. Lucia) and Spice Island Beach Resort (Grenada) come to mind.

Perhaps the reason pool suites are not very common in the Caribbean is that the beaches and waters are alluring enough!

I assume you mean a private pool, not just a plunge pool? There used to be a nonstop (I assume you mean nonstop, not a direct flight?) from the NYC area to Grenada, and Spice Island Beach Resort has some nice private pool rooms.

You might also want to check out Cap Juluca on Anguilla. You can fly nonstop to St. Maarten and then take a quick boat ride or airplane hop to Anguilla. There are some private pool suites/villas within Cap Juluca.

I know Phuket, much less those specific resorts, but they're among the nicest places to stay in the Caribbean.

If a plunge pool will so, it opens up several more options. Jade Mountain on St. Lucia might be of interest to you. I believe there are nonstops between NYC and the larger airport on St. Lucia, though I don't think the beaches there will compare to what you know in Phuket.

And ditto Callaloo's suggestion of Horned Dorset, which although San Juan is a nonstop flight from NYC, you'd have a long drive to get there from the airport. No longer than a connection from St. Maarten to Anguilla, however.

Raffles Resort Canouan Island.
Its not a direct flight from JFK though. You can fly AA out of JFK to Barbados and from there either take the raffles jet or air mustique prop plane. It either takes 30 minutes (private jet) or 50 minutes (prop plane).
