Have you made any decisons yet?

As far as Aruba, well you know my stand on that But a friend of mine went to Jamaica for her honeymoon and stayed at al al...she loved it so I'll see if I can find out the name for you in case you go that route.

Also, where are you leaning toward staying in GC? I'd really like to stay at AquaBay but it's just too far from everything. Casa Caribe would be nice but I am paying 2 extra rooms there I wouldn't need. I am thinking we'll stay at VIllas. Someone sent me photos and it does look nice, plus it's on the best part of the beach and in a great location.

Hi Kristen,
I really appreciate all your help and tips. I don't have final decisions yet. I was looking at condos with my mom last night, and that's the route my family is going to go because it makes sense for them. As for me and my fiance, I'm thinking maybe we should stay in a condo, maybe for 5 nights with my maid of honor, and then stay at the Westin the night before and/or after the wedding. (Just so we have at least the wedding night alone before leaving for our honeymoon!!)But I haven't talked to my fiance yet, he is really more of a hotel person, but he also loves to save $, so basically I guess I'm going to look at a few of the condos today and post a few questions on them. I think the ones I look at will be on Central 7 Mile Beach, though, as opposed to the North end. I want to make sure we are within walking distance of some things. Are you planning on renting a car?
As for the honeymoon, I am not stressing yet to make a decision -- I figure I have a few months before I have to book/decide on that. Both Jamaica and Aruba sound so fun in different ways, but I must admit, when you write about Aruba, it sounds fabulous! If you could let me know which AI your friend stayed at, that would be great. I haven't heard from Cayman Weddings yet, and I e-mailed them a few days ago, so maybe I'll try again this afternoon. Is that how you've been corresponding with them?

That's odd. I usually hear from them within a half hour of writing. And it never takes more than a day. This is the address I have been using...

[email protected]

I would write again just in case they didn't receive it for some reason...

If you will need more than 1 BR in your condo in GC, check out Coralstone Club...looks really nice. And close to everything.

Another option for Aruba if you wnat an all inclusive is the Bucuti Beach Club. Supposed to be very nice. Only thing is there re lots of good restaurants in Aruba that you would miss...

Kristen,
Thanks! Actually, I think we would only do AI if we went to Jamaica. Aruba's restaurants sound too good for me to pass up! I am going to try again to write to Cayman Weddings this afternoon. So, are you definitely sticking with Villas?

The only thing that makes me hesitant about Villas is the construction. I've been assured it won't be a problem, but seeing the construction photos of that massive thing makes me wonder!

I'm sure Villas will be great. I would look at it myself, but I do love swimming in a pool in the late afternoon after a day at the beach, and I don't think Villas has a pool. Can you recommend any other condos (2 BR) that you looked at that look nice? I wish the Ritz-Carlton was open!

Kristen,
Where did you find your photographer? What is he/she including in their package for you?

Cayman Weddings recommended the photographer...I think it must be who they usually use. You get 36 photos in an album. I think the fee is $300. Seems high to me but it is my wedding and I'd like some good photos! Apparently for GC though this is the norm.

Have you been on the Caribbean Online forums yet? There is a raelly nice guy,(Nate)who posts regularly who got married a year and a half ago with Cayman Weddings on the private beach and used their photographer. He was very pleased with everything. He actually sent me a couple photos from his ceremony. If you send me your email, I'll send then to you.

As far as condos on central 7MB, look at Plantana and Casa Caribe. They seem to be the best.
