My soon to be hubby and I are planning our honeymoon and need help! We will be traveling from Portland, OR at the end of April for about a week to 10 days. Our budget is $4,000 or less for the both of us. We'd like to go somewhere warm and maybe with a beach, but we'd still like to see some sites. Where in the world can we go??? We appreciate any suggestions! THX!

I'd suggest San Juan. It's probably less expensive to fly there than most other Caribbean destinations and you would probably have the least number of connections. I'm pretty sure that American Airlines flies from Portand to San Juan with just one stop for a change of planes in Dallas. Given the distance you're traveling, you don't want to waste precious time on 2 or more connections to get to your destination. San Juan would allow you to use your time and money to best advantage.

I had assumed you were looking to travel to the Caribbean since you posted on the Caribbean forum. But rereading your question, I'm not sure if you intended to limit yourself to the Caribbean.

If you're open to any beach destination, I'd suggest one of the beach resorts on the Pacific Coast of Mexico over the Caribbean (or Hawaii) because it's much closer to Portland and your budget won't get eaten up by your airfare.

Hello Noyes! I agree with Laby about San Juan. There is a beautiful resort in Isla Verde called EL SAN JUAN you should consider staying in, it is a beautiful resort very close to awesome shopping, casinos, nightlife, and also it is pretty close to the EL YUNQUE rainforest, only about 25 minutes or less away and you really should see El Yunque.El San Juan sits right on a wonderful beach and is very close to some great beach bars. You will love it.
