I'm planning a destination wedding and our top two contenders are the Bahamas and Puerto Rico (because they're both easy to get to). Of people who have been to both, which did you like more (as far as things like beautiful beaches, local culture, safety, good food, good snorkeling, and just overall atmosphere)?

We're considering having the wedding itself in Nassau or San Juan, to have all the amenities of a big city for our guests and then possibly spending part of our honeymoon someplace quieter, like Harbour Island/Eleuthera or Vieques. Any opinions about those locations are welcome too. Thanks!

Of the two options I would choose PR. I am not a big fan of the main portion of the Bahamas (the Out Islands are a different story). San Juan is a wonderful city and should keep everyone entertained.

San Juan, hands down over Nassau. For starters, in Old San Juan you have the finest historical, cultural, and architectural sites in the Caribbean. You also have plenty of nightlife, great restaurants, nice beaches, casinos, etc right outside of Old San Juan. Good snorkeling is the only think lacking in the San Juan area.

Vieques would be a wonderful spot for a honeymoon. I just returned from there last month and can't wait to plan a longer trip there. However, from San Juan, you basically have your pick of every island in the Caribbean for your honeymoon, so be sure to keep your options open.
