Honeymoon in Sept 2004
My finance and I love the Carribean. We would like to spend our honeymoon on one of the islands, howver, we will be going when the weather is not so great, Sept 20 next year. I'm wondering how bad is it? Is the humidity during this time unbearable. Where would be the best place to go. We were thinking Jamaica. Any info would help. Thanks!

The humidity isn't that bad. I suffer terribly in the heat and do okay. I think you have to be more worried about hurricanes during that time. The Southern Caribbean: (Barbados, Grenadines, Grenada, Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire) tends to be safer during this time. If you are really bothered, make sure you get a room with AC.

I agree with IslandGrl. We were in Aruba in Sept of 2002 and the weather was great. Aruba is south of the typical hurricane path. While we were there, a tropical storm passed through farther north in the Caribbean, but the only impact to the island was slightly less wind than normal for about 2 days.

We honeymooned in Aruba in Sept 2001 and loved it so much we went back in July 2003. It is a great island with beautiful beaches. Plus it is VERY safe there. We were there during 9/11 in 2001 and the local people were wonderful to the tourists. I can't recommend this island enough.
It is hot there, but there is a constant tradewind blowing that keeps you cool.
I am going to Curacao in a few weeks which is a Dutch Island like Aruba. If you'd like me to email you about this island when I come back let me know.
Congrats!

Most of the caribbean closes for the month of September due to it being peak hurricane month. It is considered low season because of this and not many visitors as a result. Aruba as above posters mentioned and also Barbados are a good bet. The last thing you need to worry about for your honeymoon is the weather and if its going to be a washout.
