Honeymoon in 5 weeks- need to book!

Getting married on Oct 26 and haven't booked the honeymoon. We want white sand and clear blue water but DON'T want a Sandals resort. Has anyone stayed at Ottleys Plantation in St Kitts or Siboney Beach? Is Cuba ok? We just to relax and have fun...Any suggestions greatly appericiated!

Why haven't you booked yet? I got married in July, and our honeymoon was planned at least a few months in advance.
Anyway, that's besides the point. We went to Turks and Caicos and had a fabulous time. However since you're going in october, it may be hurricane season for a large part of the caribbean. not 100% sure though. Anyway, i've heard that st. kitts doesn't have the "white sand" beaches. Cuba or Jamaica might be your best bet. Or maybe Mexico - the Mayan Riviera is supposed to be very romantic.

Enjoy, where ever you go, you'll have a great time!

Try the ABC Islands: Aruba, Bomaire, Curaco. All 3 islands are out of the hurricane belt and the time frame you mention is at the end of hurricane season. Don't discount the Sandals resorts altogether though. They have a hurricane guarantee available and would cover you if one hits your chosen island. Woulnd't hurt to look into an upscale Sandals. The Radisson in Aruba has been getting great reviews lately too. I am not familiar with Bonaire or Curaco or the other properties you mentioned. I do know that if you are a US citizen you cannot legally travel to Cuba unless you are part of an educational tour group.

Are youtalking about Siboney Beach in Antigua? If so, I would not recommend it - very tiny, beach in that area is poor, tiny pool, not a great location.

I would also suggest Turks and Caicos - truely beautiful beaches and nothing to do there but relax. Very pretty.

We have never stayed at Ottleys but we have toured the place and eaten there several times. Their restaurant is truly a delight--the food and the little frogs singing! The pool is built into the old sugar factory ruins. You are not on a beach, but they are easy to get to. This is one of the lovliest places on earth.
