Honeymoon Ideas???
I am planning a honeymoon in early August and I want to get some feedback on where to go. I like the laid back idea of the Buscoti in Aruba, but wouldn't mind the nightlife action either. What other areas are recommended? I really don't want to stay at a huge resort with a lot of families/kids.

The Aruba Marriott Resort & Casino. It is on the end of the high rise and isn't very crowded. It is quite secluded, loaded with honeymooners. There is a wonderful waterfall in the swimming pool which is so romantic. They have the resort area landscaped beautifully!

Congrats!

We just got back from having our
wedding/honeymoon on the island of
St. John, USVI, it exceeded all our
expectations.

Purely paradise. The most exquisite
beaches to found anywhere. There are
so many gorgeous villas to rent.

In the past, we have always stayed
at really nice resorts. St. John
has Caneel Bay resort (upscale) and
the Westin. (typical) but after
renting a villa, for us there is
no other way to go. Pure heaven,
paradise. You get a way lot more
for you money.

Hope this helps.

Nanc

You're in hurricane season--stay in the southern part of the Caribbean--Barbados, Aruba, Grenada or Bonaire--why take chances on your honeymoon. Honeymoon resort popular in Grenada is The Spice Island Inn with your own pool. We recently came back from Aruba and the Bucuti was very quite--very impressed with the immense beach. Suggest rental car for mobility and easy drive to get to all those great restaurants in Aruba. Good luck.

Last year we vacationed in St. Martin (french side) at the Esmeralda Resort where we had a great time. Nearby on a hill was several villas with their own pool--Green Cay Village or greencayvillage.com. From the highest point there were gorgeous views looking down at Orient Beach. Orient Beach was one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen and we have traveled to many islands. With a rental car you can drive to Grand Case or Marigot for dinner--cuisine was outstanding. There are many beach bars for a quick meal. Good luck.

I stayed at Aruba Marriott Resort and Casio. I agree, it's in a wonderful location of you want a little seclusion. Its the last hotel on the strip. The hotel is beautiful and the beach is really nice. A few other really nice resorts are the Hyatt and the Radisson. These are more in the center of the hotels but are really nice. Unless you really hate taking the bus, I wouldn't recommend renting a car the entire time. There is a bus which picks you up from each hotel throughout the day and its fairly cheep. We rented a car for a day to explore the island, the rest of the time we took the bus.
