Help with finding an AI Honeymoon

We are having trouble picking a place for a honeymoon at the end of August. We will probably go with an all-inclusive in Mexico or the Caribbean. We are looking at Dreams Tulum, Secrets Capri, and Sandals Antigua resorts. Any thoughts or other ideas?

Thanks

We stayed at Secrets Capri for a week last July and would highly recommend it. Lots of weddings on the beach, lots of honeymooners and lots of couples celebrating their wedding anniversary. Good food, top shelf drinks, good service.

We liiked Sandals Antigua. Good restaurants, beverages and a great staff.
I always urge people when doing an AI to make sure they see the island as well. There is a boat tour that you can take to snorkel, swim, hike, eat plenty of food, and they will give you an educational talk on Antigua. Doing a tour like this is very enjoyable and gives you numerous photo opportunities.

In Mexico, also check out the Iberostar Paraiso Grand and the Royal Playa del Carmen. Both have great food and service and wonderful pools and beach.

I would not recommend Sandals Antigua (two trips there, both disappointing).

You do not indicate your age, budget or priorities so recommending specific properties is a shot in the dark.

Dreams allows kids so that would be a deal breaker for me. Secret's newest resort at Maroma opens in July and the beach there is rated as one of the top in the world.

We recently stayed at Le Blanc Cancun and it was the nicest of all my AI stays (20 or so on different islands). We are headed back to Cancun in April to stay there again and also 4 nights at the Grand, a lovely adult only AI of high quality.

Thanks for the info, please keep it coming.

A little more info about us. We are both 27, and a nice beach with nice water is important to us. Nice rooms but don't have to be 5 star. Also, going snorkling and/or tours are important as well. We do not just want to sit around all day.

As far budget, 5-6,000.00 for everthying(hotel/flight/fun)

Thanks

Your budget gives you lots of options.

If you like to scuba, snorkel, waterski, etc, then I recommend Couples Negril or Couples Swept Away. CSA esp. has tons of included activities, very nice rooms and is on a wonderful beach. I never got bored there and the spa, tennis courts and fitness center are excellent.

In Cancun, the prices can seem better but there are not nearly as many included activities. Nothing compared to a Couples or Sandals (I prefer Couples but you might find a cheaper deal at Sandals). Keep that in mind as you will spend more on excursions and water sports.
