Help!!! Cap Juluca Or Covecastles?

Ok, I've given up trying to make a decision based on the hotels' web sites and other travel dot.coms....I'm making myself crazy and I need help from experienced Anguilla travelers who've been there. My wife and I don't have a lot of opportunities like this, so we're sort of obsessing over the "perfect choice". Cap Juluca or Covecastles? Covecastles or Cap Juluca? Our priorities are casual elegance and luxury, peace and serenity, a beautiful beach, a competent and accomodating staff, and wonderful food (or at least proximity to good restaurants. Cap Juluca or Covecastles? Covecastles or Cap Juluca?

Jack I can understand why you are torn. I have stayed at Cap Juluca many many times. It is an outstanding hotel, the beach, its service, its rooms, and near lots of excellent restaurants! Covecastles is nice too. The beach is lovely, it is almost always empty, and you can walk to the little Italian restaurant Trattoria Tramonto. Covecastles has a fine restaurant, only open for dinner. I have viewed the beach house rooms and they are very nice. The main difference is CJ has many more things to offer, and it is air-conditioned, Covecastles is not. CJ has 2 spots to dine at lunch and 3 for dinner. Both places are located in the West end with lots of excellent dining choices. Anguilla to me is a perfect island, "perfect choice" is up to you. I do not think you can go wrong with either.

Hi Jack,
Both places are lovely and service is great, so calm down, you will be happy with either.
I prefer the beach at Covecastles but feel Cap Juluca is a little more 'luxe.

Nancy-I thought the beach at Cap Juluca was wonderful. Why do you like the beach at covecastles! It looked rocky to me a few years ago, has that changed?

Jack,
Anybody that had a choice of staying at either of these two wonderful places should not whine about! Cap Juluca or Covecastles? Covecastles or Cap Juluca? My, my why don't you stay half of your time at Cap Juluca and the other half at Covecastles...problem solved. Covecastles has limited room service. You can't beat Cap Juluca's beach and beach service...just raise the flag on the umbrella...the best "Pina Coladas" in the world!
Hey, need some company?
~~~Kelly~~~
I don't want to make your decision making process more difficult, but I think that Cuisinart is much more beautiful than Cap Juluca. I just came back from eight days at Cuisinart and we could not have picked a more beautiful place. We visited Cap Juluca and found it to be quite nice. However, it pales in comparison to Cuisinart. Cap Juluca is more than 10 years old while Cuisinart is approximately 2 years old. I also understand that Cap Juluca is a tad more expensive that Cuisinart (another reason to pick Cuisinart).
Cuisinart is a lovely manicured property and less expensive than Cap but for beach, restaurants, service, amenities, accomodations Cap is leaps and bounds better than Cuisinart! nothing wrong with cuisinart it's just that it has a very hotel feel and the rooms are not comfortable.
Yes, oh wow, you are absolutely correct. Cap is booked, Cuisinart is not, in fact their spring rates are fab!It is a nice hotel, and I would not rule it out!
