Half Moon Bay, Jamaica

We are going to Half Moon Bay in Montego Bay in March and I was just wondering how dressed we need to be for dinner. Can men wear nice shorts as some of the info I received from the hotel said slacks for men. Thanks in advance.

I've never stayed at that resort (but have been to Jamaica a few times, but in casual places out in Negril).

If the resort says they require it, I guess I would believe them

In the question and answers on Trip advisor, there were a few, basic minimum dress requirements for dining. It also says long pants are required in the Sugar Mill Restaurant for men over age 12 and dress shorts are OK worn with shirts with collars in other dining facilities. Looks as if Sugar Mill is more upscale.

Stayed there for a week. I was not under the impression the rules were terribly strict. At least I did not live up to any of those, nor did I get remarks or was this discussed in the large group we stayed with. possibly also depends if you are in the villas or the hotel self (small), but I do not think so. Overall nice place.

Having said that, there was a welcome setting by manager / owner, and people dressed up a bit for that.
