Grand Case / Gourmet Capital?
First of all, lets call a spade a spade. Don't believe what you read about the charming creole asrchitecture in Grand Case. The place is a slum. And, you won't feel safe walking the streets (those clusters of French police are there for a reason). The food is not haute cuisine. I've had some good meals and some bad ones. Most of the restaurants are not air-conditioned, so on a hot night you'll be uncomfortable. Anf if the wind is not blowing, the mosquitos will get you. If you like to dress up for dinner, forget it. The preferred fashion is shorts and flip-flops. The beach is ugly. It was left in disrepair after being mauled by a hurricane a decade ago. It features dog-poop on the sand and locals bathing in the water you swim in.

Well, we know St. Martin very well, and Grand Case is definitely our favourite place there. In our experience, the food in most Grand Case restaurants definitely qualifies as 'haute cuisine'.
I'm sad to hear about gtirondola's bad experience, but why does he/she keep posting about it?

Since EVERYBODY (according to MIM04) has already judged my input to be less than useful, I'll not bore you further with my travel descriptions - your sarcastic invitation notwithstanding.
My experiences and my right to share those experiences are just as valid as anyone else's in this forum. Where does it say that you have to agree with me, or I have to agree with you? Also, you can disagree with my experience without attacking me personally. That only forces me to respond in kind.
There are many other travel websites where civility and maturity reigns.
And so I leave you knuckleheads to your trite remarks.
adieu

lol, well we are happy not to hear your negative comments. Its not that no one can disagree here, but when you don't have anything nice to say then maybe in this case you should not say anything at all. Especially since it was a fairly offensive post AND you posted this before and the editors quickly deleted it. That should tell you something!
