Good Resturants on St. Thomas

Hi All, I have read some really great info on this site and thought I would ask your opinion on some great places to eat on St. Thomas. I am getting married in Dec of this year at the Ritz Carlton. I have some family staying with me and others staying in near by hotels (including Secret Harbour). I need a place for a Friday night dinner for everyone to have a relatively inexpensive meal and be able to chat. I was thinking of the Blue Moon Cafe for this. As for the night before our wedding I was looking at the Caribbean Saloon in Red Hook for more of a party atmosphere. What do you all think? Thanks in advance for your help!

it's a small place, but has GREAT sushi...beni iguana (delicious mussels, too). if you like sushi, i'd make it a point to have a quick lunch or dinner there one day.

congratulations!

steph, friday night at blue moon would seem like a wonderful choice. very romantic dining just a few feet from the ocean. i'm sure julie can provide a wonderful meal and the restaurant is small and conducive to conversation. you might want to contact her to reserve your tables and perhaps arrange a pre-selection of menu items if you are buying everyones dinner. you can reach her at [email protected]
assume it is the saloon that does sushi as blue moon does not.

Steph,

Blue Moon is an excellent choice for dinner..and I agree that Julie and her staff will take great care of you. The Caribbean Steak House would also work for what you are interested in doing. It definitely is more of a party place......but it still has great food. You'll find that it gets very, very crowded and noisy later at night as it turns from more of a restaurant into more of a bar. The owners, Frank & Terrie are great hosts and will also take really good care of your group.

Both are very close to where your group will be staying on the east end.

My wife and I had a marvelous dining experience at "Roberts" in the Elysian Resort which is adjacent to Secret Harbor. The food was excellent, the ambience, very romantic and there was a piano player taking requests to heighten the experience.
