Good restaurants near Megan's Bay

Hi!

We're going to St. Thomas (first time on a Caribbean vacation) in May and we're renting a villa. We would like to know what great restaurants we shouldn't miss out on nearby.

We like all types of food - would prefer Carribean food, and we love seafood. We will be renting a car, but if we don't have to, we would prefer not to drive!! We would like to have a couple of cocktails if we can (and do not want to drive if we have been drinking).

Thanks so much!!! o) Vicki, John, Jen, and Sid

Hi There,

No quite sure where your villa is....but since your title says near Magen's Bay I'll use that as a reference. There are not a lot of restaurants close by Magen's. There is the Old Stone Farmhouse on the way there near the golf course. You also have Bryan's and there is that out of the way place at Hull Bay also.

Other than those, none of which are going to be close enough to walk to....any other great restaurant on the island is only a relatively short taxi ride away.

Schultz

Vicki: The area where the villas are near Magen's is a residential section. You will need to drive to everything! Schulz has already given you the closest ones (and all good). Downtown (just "over the hill&quot to Cuzzin's for local, Hook Line and Sinker for seafood, Alexander's, Craig and Sally's etc. Either a DD or a taxi I guess!!

Eunice's Terrace was the closest restaurant to the general Magen's bay area and it had good Caribbean food, but I believe they are closed now. You will need to go to Charlotte Amalie for better known Caribbean restaurants.

HOWEVER...if you like good, rum laced milk shakes, Udder Delight, the St. Thomas Dairy outlet store (don't expect anything large) is very near Magen's Bay. You can get a wide variety of very good ice cream and milk shakes with or without rum! I recommend!
