Good Condo on &7MB in Grand Cayman?

We are traveling to GC for 5 nights June 5-9 & are looking for a good 2BR condo with a pool & on a sandy (not rocky) beach. We have two one-year old children & prefer somewhere with washer/dryer in the condo & that can provide cribs and/or have enough beds to actually sleep the two kids. Has anyone stayed at Treasure Island (is the beach rocky there??) or at Plantana or Lacovia??

We loved our stay at Treasure Island last year. One side of the beach is rocky and the other half is sandy. But a wide sandy beach above. http://www.ticondos.com/TItour1.htm The pool area was great.

We stay on the Northside, but have friends that stay at Lacovia and love it.

Isn't the Treasure Island beach a bit rocky? We used to go there to snorkel their cove, and it always seemed a rocky entrance, but just a ways down it was sand and rock.

The entry into the water is very rocky at TI. The snorkeling is excellent however. There is plenty of sand above the water line, but entry takes some care for sure.

Plantana...WOW. It's been a few years, however a 2 bedroom oceanfront can't be beat. The sand is like powder, no dropoff after you enter the water (which may now be different due to the last few hurricanes), small pool right on the beach, washer/dryer and full kitchen. Really spectacular.
Enjoy.

The Regal Beach Club next door to the Marriott fabulous. Website is regalbeach.com I believe. It looks just like the photos on there. The beach is much larger there though if you have heard bad things about the beach in front of the marriot. It is also away from cruise ship crowds that tend to be up by Lacovia. We just got back from our 3rd stay there with our boys. you can ask for a unit with twin beds in the second bedroom. They have porta cribs for rent too. Treasure island is very rocky but cheaper. We have stayed there and the Hyatt too. Good luck and and have fun

Forgot to tell everyone thanks - we really enjoyed Grand Cayman & our stay at Plantana Condos. Although, I'm a travel agent & they were supposed to pay me 10% commission, I've never seen it. I've questioned them via email several times over the past months but no luck.

Plantana & the facilities were wonderful but I would probably not send any clients there due to them not paying commission (after 9 months!)

let me get this straight. you are a travel agent - getting paid for advice - but you are coming to the fodors boards for advice on where to travel. and you state that "plantana and the facilities were wonderful" but because they did not pay for part of your stay you will not tell your paying customers about the resort.
well i think each of the posters to this question deserve 10% of something too, and perhaps you should be telling ppl to just check fodors and skip your commission altogether.

virginia..............Great post.. I'm laughing by butt off.
Treasure Island does not compare to PLANTANA. It's like day and night.

Priceless. I wonder why some people are skeptical about using travel agents!
