Garden View Rooms at Caneel?
Just curious if anyone has any specific unit numbers to recommend if I am booking a Garden View Room at Caneel Bay? I'm also curious if anyone knows which specific unit numbers on Caneel's property map are Garden View Rooms? #153 - #166 perhaps? Is one end of this row better than another?
Thanks for any tips!!

Hi again Denver Diva,
Check out this review I'm liunking to you. Its a recent--past April-- opinion from a person stateside.
It really speaks volumes to the experience you may have if staying at Caneel.
Any of the Garden Rooms will suffice, so its difficult to choose.
Here is the link to read-i hope it helps:

Does anyone know how far of a walk the closest beach is from the Garden Rooms? Come to think of it, how far of a walk are each of the separate beaches at Caneel from one another? How big is this place in terms of walking minutes??

i had friends stay at the hawksnest area...
Hawksnest has a "sunrise light"...it also will get a great atlantic breeze thats cooler than late afternoon west face breezes...it is also quieter at this end of property...
the snorkeling is also very awesome...

We stayed at Courtside rooms for 2 nights & then due to problems with bathroom that they couldn't fix, we were upgraded to Waterview on Caneel beach. We probably couldn't have afforded the added $300 a night if we were paying for the upgrade, but I have to say it would have been worth every penny. The garden view rooms/courtside rooms are only about a 10 min walk to Scotts Beach & Hawksnest Beach...maybe less than 5 to Caneel. There was a shuttle bus that always passed us if we wouldn't have wanted to walk. It is a beautiful property tho so we were happy to walk. We loved the resort because of the many many perfect beaches. The rooms aren't fancy but that isn't why you would pick Caneel. I am jealous & would love to be going there again. By the way, I think we were 150 & a tennis view room so your numbers are probably correct for Garden View Rooms.

We stayed in garden room # 143 while back and for some reason the two end rooms #143 downstairs and #148 upstairs were doubles, two rooms combined into suite with bedroom and livingroom, very spacious. Nothing on the web site mentioned it, we got it as cheapest garden room. But like I said it was a few years back, so I don't know if configuration is still the same. We enjoyed it, had large double porch and view of gardens and tennis courts. If one is budget oriented it is way to go.
