four seasons nevis

Just returned from a lovely trip here. My 2 sons (in their 20's), my daughter (16), my husband and I. We had 2 rooms on the 2nd floor in the Indian Castle building. I asked in advance several times to be as close to the beach as possible and I don't think you can get any closer at this resort. It was perfect. 2nd floor gave us a great view and allowed me to sit outside on the porch at night with no bugs while the rest watched TV. I was a bit concerned when I heard they were screened but it was just what I wanted. The rooms were lovely although I requested an extra blanket the first night and they were very accomodating. We flew from the northeast into san juan, then into st. kitts and then the boat over. No problems there but the boat waited for several planes to arrive before going to nevis. Waited at least an hour on the boat. The trip home was a nightmare since they closed the st. kitt airport due to a small disabled plane on the runway for 3 hours. Naturally, we missed our connections although the american people tried to help.
I was afraid my kids might be bored here but they did fine. They knew in advance it would quiet. We were only there for 1 week, 2 might have been too long for them, although I could have stayed. They did scuba diving and other sports (tennis, golf). My husband was a bit disappointed with the golf course.
The staff was delightful and the resort beautiful but outrageously expensive. I'd be happy to try and answer any questions.

I'm glad to hear you had a nice trip. I'm going to the FS in June. I have a few questions for you. How was the connecting flight? Was the plane really small or bumpy? How did you find the food? Did your bathroom have a seprate tub from the shower? Overall how was service? Did you go to Sunshines and is it worth all the hype? And last did you eat off the resort? Well maybe I have more than a "few" questions! LOL Thanks for helping out

jobeydog..thanks for the info..my family is going is july...questions: was the Indian Castle the closest building to the water, or which one might be better to request? Would you have preferred a 1st floor room? Any other info. would be wonderful. I am just beginning my research.

I don't see how you can do any better than Indian Castle. I would definitely request it. It was very near the main building which I was worried about when I saw it but this is a very quiet resort and it gave convenience yet no noise. I heard people at the pool complaining because this resort is spread out and they didn't want to have to walk back to their room to get something. Indian Castle is right near the beach, closest one, you'll love it. I preferred the 2nd floor because I like to sit and look at the ocean and beach in the evening. I think the view from the 1st floor isn't quite as good, although there is the convenience of walking out the door rather than going down the stairs.(no big deal at all). I certainly preferred the 2nd floor.
Have a wonderful time. You'll love it.

i am taking my two teens (15 and 17) in august, i wanted luxery, and i will definately take your advice and ask for the second floor, i too enjoy watching the sky and ocean in the evening. im worried that my kids will be restless, but they are "beach" kids and adore the ocean. thanks for the info, im going in august and i am a bit nervous about taking two teens, are the activities they listed good for them? can i take them out for dinner to other rest? will it be a nightmare to travel to other places for day trips, and dinners? looking forward to the vacation but when it comes to teens, you never know.....thanks

I know what you mean. My husband likes luxury but it's hard to find a place that's luxurious and also has plenty of action for the teens. My two youngest (16 and 23) decided to bring a softball and gloves, also a frisbee and they played several times while there. There's also shuffleboard and croquet which I was shocked to find they also tried and enjoyed. They also went scuba diving, did waterskiing and wakeboarding. (these 3 were an extra charge, of course) We didn't do a snorkel excursion but the beach has this equipment and it's complimentary. We did a taxi tour, actually the 5 of us in a van which was only a couple of hours since the island is very small but we enjoyed it, it gave us a sense of what else was there, and it was inexpensive. We didn't leave the premises much since the kids were happy with the beach, pool, tennis and golf, had some school work to do. They were a bit bored with nightlife and pretty much watched tv after dinner. The two oldest went into a recommended place in town one night. The cab was inexpensive but they said there wasn't much going on. I think it's easy to get a cab to go out to dinner but my kids were very happy with the food at the restaurants there. (The 2 boys are big eaters) We didn't care much for the seafood buffet, thought the food was much better in the restaurants.

A couple more thoughts. My husband and I were in room 626 (king) and my 3 kids were in 625. Either 2 dbls or queens plus a rollaway. There was plenty of room for the rollaway and there was no charge for it. A lovely rollaway. The rooms were large and bright but I thought 625 smelled a bit musty, although no one else thought so.
