We will be spending a week at Atlantis later this year. Are there any ferries from Nassau that go to other islands for some day trips? We are pretty adventurous and want to experience something other than Nassau on our trip. Any advice appreciated!

There are several day trips to some outer cays, for snorkling, Atlantis can arrange that for you once you get there.

There is also the BoHengy www.bahamasfastferries.com that goes to Eleuthera and Harbour Island, not sure if they will be running August, there is less demand daily for ferries during the summer, so if it is not running you can take Bahamas Air over to N. Eleuthera Airport and then taxi and water taxi over to the island and explore. The beach there is one of the best in the world and there is a bit of shopping and several restaurants on island.

You might try the beach restaurant at Pink Sands, or a bit further down the beach, is Coral Sands and the conch burger there is great.

I have heard there is also a ferry started or about to start to Abaco, so you might check the BoHengy website for info on other ferries.
