We visited a villa at Blazing Villas in St. Thomas while staying at the Renaissance this year. You have all the amenities of the Renaissance property, without paying the price tag of the hotel. The villas are a short leisurely walk right to the beach (not even like 3 mins. away), with use of 2 pools, the spa and gym, besides the restaurants. The whole villa has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, with maid service, laundry room, kitchen and a little private courtyard. Not a HUGE house, but the accommodations and prices are great (clean, kept up, and the property is landscaped and well maintained). The property is on the eastern part of St. Thomas, nearer to St. John, and about 40 mins. from Charlotte Amalie. <BR><BR>Hope this helps.

the villa term is used very loosely some places. some attached units or condos are also called villas so be sure to specify what you want. Know I would be disappointed looking for a private villa or house but getting there and finding it's really a cluster of condos like blazing villas. might want to look at www.stjohnlinks.com if you are interested in the USVI (not many of the beach and those are expensive btw)
