DR: Punta Cana

I need help in deciding where to stay in Punta Cana. So far I think I like either- Melia Tropical Spa and golf REsort or Paradisus Punta CAna or Barcelo Bavaro Beach golf and casino resort. Can anyone recommend one of these hotels or have another suggestion. I am looking for quality rooms with a hotel with nice beaches. thanks

Hi
My husband and I had a wonderful vacation at the Melia. The Paradisus is owned by the Melia also and I have heard very good things about it. The food was good, the beach breathtaking, and the pool and property very beautiful. Photos don't do it justice as far as I'm concerned. Please write to me at my e-mail address if you have any specific questions. We can't wait to return.

Hi...I realize this isn't one of your choices, but we just returned from the Riu Bamba, Punta Cana. We walked that beautiful beach almost 4 miles one day, checking out all of the other resorts, and ours was the best for beach front. Lots of palm trees and cabana's.
We met people who stayed at the Garden resort and said they wouldn't return to that resort.
Ours was great...great food, service, rooms plus lots of water toys to play on!
The only thing lacking at this resort was the nightly entertainment. But...when you stay at the Riu, you can go to any of the other Riu's, as well as Riu Street, where there's a lively disco. This place doesn't get going until 12:30 and stays going until 5:30 a.m.
There's a great website that has reviews of everywhere in the DR. Check out http://www.debbiesdominicantravel.com/

Last year, we stayed at the Riu Palace Macao & had a nice time there. Nice pools, good food, good rooms, etc., etc.
