Some of the best diviing, from what I have heard, can be found at Turks and Caicos. Beleive that there is a site called the "Great Wall". Water there is very calm and clear.

As far as luxurious hotels on the island - the island is very flat and dry so you will not hae the scenery as seen in St. Lucia but instead some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean - can not compare to St. Lucia. There are many smaller, more intimate resorts on the island. One such place is "Coral Gardens" - beautiful place!

Yes we did Jan. We have been to St. Lucia also, and the diving on Cozumel is very similar. There are more reefs than walls. (But Santa Rosa Wall is fantastic!)
There are a lot of swim throughs and the drift diving is almost like being on an amusement park ride. It's really neat.
The hotel dive shop, Scuba Du, offers two tank morning and afternoon dives that change daily, and an afternoon shallow reef.
Cozumel is not nearly as physically beautiful as St. Lucia, and Presidente is more laid back casual luxury, but the Reef Rooms are HUGE, and mere steps away from the best snorkeling I've seen right in front of the room. Gorgeous wide white beach with palapas.
Also, if you like ruins and day trips, there is a whole lot to do and see within easy reach. We've been to St. Lucia twice but Cozumel 10 times.
