Day trips from St Thomas

Greetings!

We're a month out from our very exciting (and much-needed trip to St Thomas, and want to book an excursion or two. What have been your favorite day trips from St Thomas to the BVI, St John, St Croix, etc? We aren't scuba divers, but are open to about anything else. We've thought about horseback riding and kayaking, and I'm looking for ideas for places to go.

Thanks so much!

Emily

St. John is considered the playground of St. Thomas residents - a visit to a beach there for some snorkeling, and maybe a hike in the National Park is a great and easy day trip - much less hassle and expense of going all the way to the BVI for a day.

You can find a lot more USVI info here www.virgin-islands-on-line.com

There is a kayaking trip company on St. Thomas, but I cannot remember the name There is also one on the island of St. John from Low Key Watersports, which is wharfside, just a short walk from where the ferry from St. Thomas docks. Horseback riding is available at Carolina Coral A taxi will takeyou there from the ferry dock in Cruz Bay, St. John. They offer scenic rides through the National Park and beachside.

If you like to snorkel, New Horizans, offers a 3 island BVI trip from St. Thomas. It was one of my favorite daytrips. A passport will be needed.

An outstanding restaurant for dinner on St. Thomas is Havanna Blue at Morningstar Hotel.

Have a great trip.

We ferried over to ST John for a day and rented a jeep and just cruised around the island. It was a highlight from that trip. Beautiful.

We were in St. Thomas in September and spent a full day on a private boat. We went to St John, Tortola, & a couple private islands. It was a gorgeous and memorable experience. We were able to snorkel, swim, hop off for stops at tiki bars & beaches. It was wonderful! You can book this sort of thing through your hotel.

Thanks, everyone! We're kind of overwhelmed with all the options, so the specific ideas are very helpful. Happy travels!
