Day trips from St. Kitts????
What other islands can you take a day trip to from St. Kitts besides to Nevis, by ferry in under an hour? I will be in St. Kitts for 6 nights and trying to see what other islands I should visit since I will be in the area. Also an example of a good 6 day itinerary of things to do would be great, if anyone has any suggestions! Thanks!

Nevis is the only island you can reach by regularly scheduled ferry service from St. Kitts - it's a 45 minute ride on the passenger ferry that leaves from Basseterre or about a 20 minute ride on the Sea Bridge Ferry that leaves from Major's Bay on the southern penninsula.
Every once in a while the Sea Hustler Cargo Ferry runs trips to St. Eustatia, St. Martin or Montserrate but they are few and far between. You should know those trips cross "open water" and can be a bit bumpy so if you are prone to sea sickness you'd be better off not going. The trips, when the occur are advertised a week or so in advance by flyers posted at the ferry dock and on bulletin boards at the main grocery shops. FYI - trips to those islands are rare during the summer months.
If you really want to visit other islands besides Nevis you the ony practicle way is to fly. Islands you can reach non-stop by air are Puerto Rico, Antigua and St. Martin. Other islands will require intermediate stops and/or plane changes.

Good advice from the above! Nevis is a gem. Love it! Hang out at Chevy's or Sunshine's for the day. On St. Kitts, take an island tour and definitely see Brimstone Hill, Caribelle Batik and do a rainforest hike...the hike can be customized to your ability. You have chosen a great place.
