Day Trip from St. Martin to Anquilla

Any comments on suggested ways to take a day trip to Anquilla with a tour of the island would be appreciated.

Take a morning ferry over from Marigot and hire a cab upon arrival in Anguilla. There will be plenty there.

You could do a tour of the island and then spend the afternoon having lunch and relaxing on the beach at Shoal Bay....it's beautiful. Then have the driver pick you up at a specific time to take the ferry back to St. Martin.

Absolutely agree!!! - Go to Shoal Bay East & have a great time on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. (There's not much to actually see -- but the white sand beaches can't be beat anywhere!)

Lots of cabs, and helpful drivers. The Anguillians enjoy promoting their island. As you probably know its very different from St. Martin, its best asset besides its friendly people are the beaches. Shoal Bay is wonderful, but have your driver show you Cove Bay,
Meads, Renedezvous, etc. the whole island is a beach!

You could also rent a car at the ferry dock and explore on your own.

If you do rent a car, bear in mind that driving is on the left.

When you get off the ferry--which runs off the Marigot dock--ask for Monsel. He will give you a great rental price. Visit Anquilla every time i am in St. Martin. Have a good trip.

Go down to Chesterfield's restaurant near the cruise ship pier and book a day-trip on Swaliga, a powered catamaran. The captain is Bruce Hancocks, and he is tops. They NEVER overbook, so you won't be crowded on the boat. Drinks and eats are provided, too. Anguilla is awesome for it's dazzling-white beaches and turquoise waters. We booked a daytrip on Swaliga II and snorkelled in 3 different locations off Anguilla, Prickly Pear, Sandy Island (tiny island with incredible snorkelling) and Little Bay. We just got back from SXM Oct. 30, and we wish we could have spent more time on/around Anguilla.
We stayed with native St. Maarteners, and as much as they love their island, even they will admit to being 2nd in the Caribbean to Anguilla when it comes to beaches! Enjoy!
