Day trip from Nassau to Atlantis???
Hi,
I'm going to be staying in Nassau (cable beach) at the end of May with some friends. I have heard wonderful things about the Atlantis resort and would LOVE to see their aquariums in person. I know that Paradise island is across the ocean from Cable Beach but I was wondering if anyone knows how far it is? Is it possible to do a day trip over to Paradise Island or is it too far? Are there ferry's or do you have to fly from island to island? Just curious. I'd hate to miss this opportunity if its not too costly/complicated to do.
Thanks!

It's a cab ride to Paradise Island from Nassau- in order to get to Paradise Island, you fly into the same airport as you do to go to nassau and you actually drive by cable beach on your way to PI. If memory serves, it takes about half an hour. However, you should know that Atlantis seems to be pretty strict about letting non-hotel guests onto their grounds. You can check out the casino, restaurants and cubs, but I don't think you'll be able to use their facilities.

Atlantis welcomes non-guests onto the property to visit the aquarium (the Dig)---for a $25.00 fee.
By all means visit Atlantis if it sounds appealing. The cab ride from Cable Beach isn't all that far. Atlantis isn't really any different than the big Orlando resorts (except that it has a beach).

Oh Wow! Paradise Island sounds much closer than I thought. Thanks everyone for the info. We'll look into the trip more when we arrive in Nassau. Strangly enough I think I'll get sick of just lying on the beach after a day or two so this seems like a nice excursion.
