Curacao Marriott

My husband and I just booked a week in June at the Marriott in Curacao. Can anyone tell me about this place ? what room to ask for? in what building ? We paid for an Oceanview room. I appreciate any information you can give me.

We stayed at the Curacao Marriott last February and really liked the resort. With an oceanview room, you should be quite happy. The rooms are all essentially the same, with either a resort or ocean view, fairly spacious, very clean and the draperies and furnishings were tasteful.

We had a breakfast only plan that worked well. The morning choices were too numerous to mention, the area was spotless and my favourite feature....too high for little fingers to help themselves! Apparently the dining room can be uneven but we were very happy with both dinners we had. There's also a deli/bistro with good selections and we even had room service one evening that was very nicely presented for a light supper. The Floris Suites across the road has a lovely outdoor formal restaurant as well.

The Marriott has a car rental agency on site that makes it easy to rent and see the island a little. There are some beautiful beaches for snorkeling and we did some walks as well.

Overall I have to say the staff at the Marriott were a huge part of the reason we loved our stay there. Very friendly, and professional with every request.

You'll have a wonderful time.

I wish I was returning! This place is fabulous and remains our favorite. The bar down by the water has karaoke a couple of times a week, a guitar player, etc. The pool area is very luxurious, and the staff is great. We had an oceanfront room that was wonderful. I think all the rooms are probably just fine. Have fun!

I would not recommend the Portofino at the Marroitt. It is their formal dining room. The food on 2 occasions was poor to fair at moderate to high prices for what they served. Floris Suites has pretty good food but if you really want to treat yourself go to LaRousse amd DeHerren for $80-$90USD/couple.

We were there in March, loved it. If you are paying for an oceanview room, try to get upgraded to an Oceanfront Executive King Room, these are larger (with a sofa and coffee table) and on the first floor so you can walk right out to the beach, there's not a lot of high foliage so you still have a great view. We prefer the rooms on the left side of the resort as you face the water because the beach is narrower there so you are closer to the water. It's a wonderful resort and one of the best values in the Caribbean, in my opinion.
