Couples Swept Away - Question about construction
Hi,

We are planning to spend some time at Couples Swept Away this fall for some R&R.....have heard many good things about it.

Does anyone know if there is construction going on at the resort right now? We understand there is a significant renovation to be completed at the end of 2002 - and would like to know the extent of the construction.....and if it interferes with a peaceful stay.

Thanks for the help!!

John,

I was at Couples Swepted Away over New Years 2002 and was very impressed with the facilities. There was no construction to the buildings yet however, they are adding a new section of villas to the grounds. Recently they had acquired the lot next door and were using its beach when I was there. Unfortunately a hurricane had washed out most of the resorts pirmary beaches and the only one available was this new lot next door.

The resort is so beautiful, but the things we thought held it back from being one of the best in the caribbean were the bad food (except for Feathers -reservations only)and the lack of beach chairs which almost got people into fist fights with the other vacationers. We loved our room and the resort has the best sports complex in the caribbean! Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies - interesting info...

Wondering if anyone has been there more recently and can fill us in on the construction.

As for the problems with chairs etc. - have you written to explain the problem - that is a problem with a very simple solution - more chairs!!!

As for the food - we have heard mixed reviews from fantastic to not very good - would be interested in other opinions.

thanks!

I was there last month and only encountered one room block under construction. It wasn't distracting but we had to go around that particular piece of sidewalk because it was blocked off.

Ask for a ground floor corner room for the most windows and a great porch!

Book Atruim or Beachfront rooms, the Garden room are near the street and noisy, also the lanai is not as large in these.
I personally loved the resort. It is quiet and there are no TV in the room, they have recently added CD Players, so bring your favorite CD's
