Sandals Antigua rooms
I am planing to spend my honeymoon at Sandals Antigua in july and I'm having a hard time decieding what room type to stay in. I am torn between the Honeymoon Oceanview Suit and the Grande Luxe Beachfront Concierge Room. I want the room with the best view of the ocean. Any information you can give me on the rooms or anything else about Sandals Antigua in July would be great. Thanks

One thing to keep in mind about Sandals Antigua is that the beach, Dickinson Bay, has lots of resorts on it and the noise from the jet skis and activity might bother someone who wants total quiet.

Surprisingly, some of the best rooms for a view are the ones at the far back end of the resort. They sit up on the cliff, and therefore have a spectacular view of the entire resort and the bay.

Be sure and get out of the resort to see a little bit more of Antigua. THe Sunday night party at Shirley Heights is GREAT!

I honeymooned there last year and we stayed in the Grand Luxe Beachfront Concierge category. We did not have any problems with noise (and really, how often are you going to be in your room during the day while all of these activities are happening?). When we did return to the room for an afternoon nap, again, the noise was not an issue.

We are big beach people and this is where we spend most of our time. Because of this, we found the Grand Luxe to be the best location. We were torn between these and the Rondovals (huts) but once we were there a few days and had a feel of the resort, we realized that the rondovals didn't offer much privacy. All of the walkways run around them.

The Grand Luxe are about 10 steps from the beach and the views were amazing! We were on the bottom level and requested to be moved to the second level for the views but once we settled in, we were happy with the ground floor. We still had a great view and we didn't have to climb stairs everytime we went back to the room. This location was also convenient when you need something in the room (drinks, towels, etc.) as it is close to the beach. It is near the main building. I enjoyed this because I would get up, run to the buffet and fix a plate for 2 to share and have breakfast in bed every morning!

If you have any more questions, please ask. Enjoy, I know you will!

I agree, just got back on Fri and we had a first floor room off the beach and it was perfect. I also wanted the second floor but soon realized that the first was better. As far as noise, the only noise we heard was the ocean, and it was very soothing! It's a great place, enjoy and have Willy the taxi driver at Sandals take you around the island for a tour!!!!!

If you want true bechfront, then the Bechfront cocneirge rooms are best as not all the top suties are OV but they are far nicer.

I also agree that some of the best views are the honeymoom concierge roomon teh bluffs - I am a total beach front person but we got this room last trip, was not happy prior to going becasue it was in the back but I was pleasently surprides. From the second floor, we had veiws of the gardens which are so worth seeing, main pool, beach and ocean and the susnet views could nto be beat. Rooms there too are far nicer then the beachfront rooms - beachfront rooms used to be a regular rom category so decor is not as nice as other concierge rooms (but ok) and smaller in size as compared to other concierge rooms.

If you want OV concierge, Iwould at least request a second floor roomlevel as alot of the foliage has grown and thick in spots. Pool there is very nice.
