Condos in Grand Cayman

Hello--we'll be traveling with a child and would like a reasonably priced condo on 7 mile beach. Snorkling in front would be a bonus. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Check out Treasure Island Condos. Don't be scared off by the resort being converted to apartments out front. We been staying here with our little ones since each of them were born. Great pools for Parents and infants and children to spend time together at. Snorkeling out front is pretty decent as well. Make sure you swim out past the first bank of coral heads outside of the man-made lagoon.

Check out:
www.caymanvacations.com

It lists most of the condos on 7MB, has good pictures & descriptions. It also has a beach & snorkeling rating for each resort.

The two prior posts are good suggestions.

Very nice condos but they are not as convenient for snorkeling, in my opinion.

Best snorkeling areas are the very north end of 7 Mile Beach or the very south end of 7 Mile Beach, as well as in front of the Governors House.
Discovery Point Club or Aqua Bay Club for oceanfront condos, Christopher Columbus for a cheaper gardenview condo - all with great beaches in the north 7 Mile Beach area.
Treasure Island Condos in the south 7 Mile Beach area are also reasonably priced.
I agree with ScottB... check out
www.caymanvacations.com to compare resorts, as there are new photos (post hurricane!!!) rates, etc for each resort there and you can quickly compare rates.
Enjoy !

Thanks for all these opinions! I'd like to refine my question now that I know so many options are out there. We will be traveling with in-laws and it would be great to be able to walk to restaurants, stores, etc. when we need a little break from each other. I know the North side of the beach is more isolated, and I'm wondering what the difference is between the south and middle part of 7 mile beach in terms of easily walkable entertainment. Thanks in advance!

Both central and south 7 Mile Beach are very convenient to shops, restaurants and entertainment.

I found Ecay not to list all the condos/hotels or restaurants. I'm sure it'll be nice once it's finished. Unless it only lists those businesses that advertise similar to another site that promoted themselves everywhere.

As for the advice about a real estate agent, I've never used one in all my trips to GC and don't see the need for a normal tourist who vacations for a few days to 2 weeks on average. If you're on the island and want to pick up a place that's another story.

I agree with the assessment that either central or south 7Mile area will work for a person wanting to walk to various establishments. Do look over this site's listing of condos along with the recommendation of caymanvactions.com (don't have to register or even use their services).

Best of luck!
