Hi Suzette,
We stayed at the Comfort Suites in January and used the Atlantis facilities. The positives were:
-The rate was less than the Atlantis
-It was very convenient to the resort and easy to walk to the Atlantis
-The parking was free
-There is a fridge in the room (no microwave)
The negatives were:
-the rooms were very worn and tired in my opinion
-the place was packed...the breakfast in the morning was practically a mob scene! We went out to breakfast at a restaurant for 2 of our days there, even though it was included at the hotel because it just wasn't worth trying to brave the crowds to get a piece of toast.
-There weren't many restaurants other than the ones at Atlantis close by until we drove across the bridge from Paradise Island. The Atlantis restaurants we did eat at were good, but very expensive.

Suzette...here's what I posted in another thread about Atlantis: To that I'd add, that if I had kids of the age that love the water slides etc, I'm sure they would have been thrilled to spend the day there.

We were at Atlantis in January. It reminded me of a combination of Disneyland and Las Vegas, but about twice as expensive. It isn't anywhere I'd ever go to again, but I know that others do seem to enjoy it.
There were tons of kids everywhere....and since I don't have little ones anymore, that did get a bit old. It seemed like everywhere we tried to go, casinos etc, there were strollers 2 deep in front of us!
I think the experience you can have there depends on what your individual situation is. For me, the obscene (in my opinion) prices of everything probably colored my opinion of the resort.

DH and i stayed here in May about 2 years ago. We picked it because it was cheaper than Atlantis. The rooms were spacious but a little worn but clean. Not to worry, you won't spend much time there.
We ate at the Poop Deck (just across the bridge), Green Parrot and two resturaunts in Hurricane Hole which I can't remember their names. We also went to the fish fry in Nassau and the food was wonderful.
I think Atlantis is good if you have kids. I would not go back unless I had won a free trip.

We have visited Paradise Island three times with our two boys, now 16 and 12. We stayed in the Coral Tower the first time, Harborside the second time, and Comfort Suites the third time. Comfort Suites was great....request a room in the newer section...the rooms are just fine. The breakfast is a mob scene inside but they also serve breakfast outside by the pool...much less crowded. It is a short walk to Atlantis (Beach Tower end).
