Celebrating 40th Anniversary in ST. Johns
Leaving next Friday for 1 week at Cinnammon Bay. We will be celebrating our 40th anniversary and am looking for quiet romantic spots we can visit. (never visited before) Also vegetarians so any restaurant recommendations would be helpful. Also husband allergic to red ants are they on St. Johns?

Big Time vegetarian restaurant is at Stone Terrace in Cruz Bay and Panini....One of the owners, Albert at Stone Terrace, is a vegan for past 50 years..chef's have alot to offer.
Also--ask the chefs's at Panini Restaurant and La Tapa to cook up something special...they will...
Red ants on st john are around---but Cinnamon management actively erradicates these creatures...you be OK. Ask Julia the GM at Cinnamon to SPRAY around your site before you arrive...she's a great person.

Most of the restaurants offer vegetarian choices, some more interesting than others. Also, I am pretty sure they just opened up a completely vegetarian place in the Marketplace (Starfish Market complex). As for romantic, and if you have access to a car, I'd drive out to Miss Lucy's in Friis Bay. When you get there, ask the folks at Cinnamon Bay about it, they should be able to provide you with a phone number and directions. Miss Lucy's is set right on the water with the choice of either eating in their screened pavillion or al fresco on the terrace overlooking the ocean. IMO, it is the ultimate quiet, romantic yet still laid back Caribbean spot. You should call in advance to inquire about their menu choices to be sure they offer something you'd like. Re: red ants or fire ants. They do exist on St. John and it isn't possible to eradicate all of them. Dependent upon your allergy level, I'd be prepared with emergency response as you would anywhere... as they seem to be everywhere even here in the northeast.

You folks are staying at Cinnammon...and I am sure that the chef there can help you with vegan meals.
BUT..
If you want ROMANTIC vegan...then there are 3 spots.
Stone Terrace or Panini...get reservation at sunset around 6PM.
OR---take thhe shuttle taxi up to sister property of Cinnamon to CANEEL Bay..
The Terrace Restaurant at Caneel is affordable and again an AMAZING sunset dining spot..the Chef Czekelius is a 35 year veteranan and can knock you socks off with vegan..
Miss Lucy's faces EAST. Fantastic sunRISES...awesome Sunday JAZZ brunch..

Just returned from our one week stay at Cinnamon Bay. Thanks again marbleheadguy and tuxedocat for the great recommendations. Went to Stone Terrace for our anniversary and would highly recommend it. Miss Lucy's was another wonderful place to eat. Setting was great and I was sorry we did not get a chance to eat there a second time. Stayed at Cinnamon Bay. So many people there have come back year after year. Met a woman who has been going for 30 yrs! Drunk Bay was so much fun. Would recommend it. (by Salt Pond) Sipping drinks on the terrace at Canel Bay while watching the sunset was another highlight.
