I was just told by someone that there is now construction in progress on both sides of the Villas of Galleon. (one side the Ritz construction, the other side another property being built) Does anyone know anything about this.

I was aware of the Ritz consruction, but am shocked to find out about the other. I have to question whether I am making a mistake in choosing this property.

Meta..there is nothing to the North of VOG except the Westin. And no worries about the Ritz...it won't bother you at all (I am very particular) and I posed no problem for us at all.

Kristen, someone said they have just or are going to shortly break ground. Apparently, they are building a condo complex. I may just make a few calls to be on the safe side. I'm not worried about the Ritz, but don't want to hear big bulldozers doing ground breaking work. (not for over $500 a night)

But there is no room beyween VOG and the Westin. The only place it could possibly be is to the North of the Westyin, but that's the Governor's House.

Let me know what you find out though because I can't imagine where it would fit!

I have a Fall 2003 Grand Cayman Real Estate MSL book and the only "pre-selling" condo's (not started yet) it show's along SMB is the Water's Edge (besides the Ritz and the Meridian) but it is located between the Coralstone Club and the Beachcomber on SMB. It looks like there is property across from VOG, the other side of West Bay Road, that is called Park Place and it list this as "future development". Who knows what that means, could be soon or could be years from now. Kristen is right, there is no room for anything between VOG and the Westin. Are they doing something to improve/upgrade the Westin? Hope this helps.

Thanks so much. I actually called cayman condo service I booked reservation thru and they called Villas. No new construction. I guess the info I received was incorrect.

I feel much better now.
