carribean resorts

We are a Canadian family(3 children ages 2,6,8)looking for an outstanding all-inclusive resort offering 2 bedroom rooms, excellent food, fabulous beach and watersports.
Any recommendations. Would like to book now for xmas 2004

What is your budget?

We are going to Negril Jamaica in May. The beach is wonderful & there are many things for the kids to do. Check out Moon Dance Villas. They have a 2 bedroom villa & can be all inclusive. You get your own cook, bartender & housekeeping staff. They also have most watersports. No organized resort activities though.

We are staying at Beaches Negril resort. It is an all inclusive with an organized kids program & lots of activities. You need to shop around for deals because the 2 bedroom is steep. We are getting a 1 bedroom suite for us & 2 almost grown kids. It has a separate bedroom for us & 3 sofabeds in the living area for the kids. There is also 2 bathrooms which is great. It had been 2 rooms & they converted it to a suite. The price was a good bit less than a 2 bedroom suite.
This fall they will be joint venturing with Sesame Street so that should be different.
Try checking at www.tropictravelonline.com & www.all-jamaica.com for ideas.

You should have a great time!

Thank you for the info. We want a great vacation without having to spend too much. We were hoping to try other islands: Aruba, Barbados, Nevis, Turks etc. but haven't had any luck in finding 5 star resort. We need a direct flight. Jamaica is always a great place but we will be there in August.

Any other suggestions?

The combination of a 5-star resort "without having to spend too much" is a little incongruent. It would help if you could give us some idea of your budget so some of the Fodorites can help steer you in the right directions. Please recognize that Christmas is the most expensive time to visit the Caribbean and many resorts have minimum stay requirements. You may also find a goodly nymber are already fully booked for this coming Christmas.

Direct flight from which city? Please define what you mean by "too much".

Thank you for your questions. "Too much" would be 40 thousand. Five people travelling during xmas I would like to pay 20 thousand at a 5-star resort. We usually stay at villas and go away every year during the xmas break for two weeks. We have booked through agents and directly. I understand that we might be too late, but hoping with direction/help from Fodorites we still may be able to getaway to an all-inclusive. We would be flying out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
