Caribbean Honeymoon Help!
We are currently figuring out where we would like to go on our honeymoon, and wanted some advice! Here is a basic rundown of what we are looking for
-Somewhere on a beach/close proximity to a beach with easy access
-Pretty clear water for snorkeling (does not have to be the BEST)
-Excursions to see other parts of the destination (i.e.: St. Lucia has the sulphur pools, Pitons, etc.)
-Not looking to just stay out on the beach the whole time, want to go somewhere that offers something a bit more unique for a honeymoon & adventurous
-Unsure whether or not we want to do an all inclusive yet
Our top choices right now are probably St. Lucia, Jamaica, or Mexico. Any tips, advice, etc. would be helpful!
Thanks in advance

I'd say Jamaica because I've been there and it is absolutely lovely! There are numerous hotel choices that are great for honeymooners (it all depends on your budget & time of year). Good hotels are Half Moon, Iberostar Grand, Secrets. Before summer it rains quite a lot, after summer there is rain as well but not so much. As for activities, the island is filled with options: horseback riding, ATV biking, zip lining, the famous Dunns River Falls, Konoko Falls, Blue Hole. Get online and do some research!

We are going in July (we both work in a school so waiting for the summer when we have off). Honestly I am not sure of a budget right now, probably want to stay close to $5,000. I guess I'm looking for mostly relaxation, with some adventure thrown in. In Jamaica I looked at a hotel called the Caves. It looks stunning but not right on the beach so not sure how I feel about it. Thank you for your suggestions!

Also, when looking into Jamaica...I am confused about Negril vs. Montego Bay vs. Ocho Rios. I feel as though I would lean towards Ocho Rios because it is closer to other attractions that we would be interested in, whereas Negril seems isolated.

Negril is WONDERFUL! It is only 90 minutes from the Montego Bay airport. And is such a special and unique experience. It's not just any vacation "resort".
I'm not sure what you mean by "isolated". Where are you wanting to go? I happily spend my entire trip right in Negril. You can stay either on the 7-mile beach of up on "the Cliffs".
This website tells you all you need to know and gives a good picture of the overall atmosphere there. Negril is a rustic, laid back, casual place. Great food in local restaurants.

The Caves is out West End road on "the Cliffs" in Negril. I've stayed there (on the Cliffs, not at Caves) and like it a lot. There is a "route taxi" (shared) system that makes it easy to get around to spend time at the beach as well. Or you can walk. It's scenic and not too far.
