Caracao- Anyone been? Good for honeymoon?
So many choices for the honeymoon. I have been here once but only for a stop on a cruise. Got off the ship for an hour or 2. If anyone could please talk about their time and things to do in Curacao id appricate it. Coming from Boston, and this will be in June if it helps. My fiancee wants to go and want to make sure its a nice play with beaches and a good place to relax.

We went in 2009. Stayed at the Lions Dive in a 2 bed apartment. Did a beach tour, Island tour and scuba dive at the Aquarium. Also went downtown and did some shopping. Have to say not one of my favorite vacations, but we did enjoy.
What are you looking for in a honeymoon? If you have already been there, what reasons do you have to return for a longer stay? Especially a honeymoon?

We were just on Curacao last month. We were there eight nights, stayed in three different hotels. Also spent five nights on Bonaire.
I enjoyed Curacao, but, found that I prefer islands with less people and/or more walkable. The traffic certainly wasn't awful, but, I guess I tend to travel to places that have not that many people. Or, to places where cabs are cheap and I don't have to drive.
On the other hand, we loved Bonaire. Probably not what you're looking for, since there isn't much for beaches. For whatever reason, it clicked with us. One of the few Caribbean islands I'm seriously considering a return trip to.

I think this is a great idea for a honeymoon. Drinks at the fort and dinner at the Bistro Le Clochard. It has one of the most remarkable views. Right along the water overlooking the Punda side of Willemstad. We sat at an outdoor table at sunset and had a drink before dinner. The food is a mix of Swiss and French. Very good filet mignons, outstanding fondues, and appetizers.
There are many romantic things about Curacao, so don't let the cosmopolitan pace of the island put you off.
