Car rental location in Anguilla

We will spend a week in February in Anguilla, and we will rent a car. We’ll fly into St.Marteen and take the ferry, and our villa will be in Rendezvous Bay.

I understand that there is no car rental at the ferry terminal – so given the facts above, what is the best location for the car rental? My web search shows two: the airport or The Valley. Are they one and the same? Is one better than the other? Any advise appreciated. Thanks

There are several car rental firms in Anguilla, and they will deliver the car to your hotel or villa.

Rendevouz hotel may have an arrangement with a rental firm, I suggest you contact Bart, the manager, and I am sure he will be the ever efficient and helpful person he is and help you, even do the booking for you.

We have been using Highway Car Rental, they are located on George Hill, which is halfway between the ferry and the airport (on the "old" main road, not the Jeremia Gumbs Highway). They have delivered to our villa, and we go to their office the next day to sort out the paperwork, as we always arrive after the office is closed and we need the car the first night.

RendezVous Bay Hotel has rental cars on the property, which makes it very convenient. Check with Bart because he should be able to handle everythng for you. Just take a taxi to the hotel and you'll be all set up. But be sure to reserve one ahead of time as there may not be enough for all of their guests.

Thanks for these suggestions, but:
We’ll be staying at a villa (Thye House) in the RendezVous Bay area – but not a villa part of the RendezVous Bay Hotel. Would the car rental company deliver the car at the villa in this case? Probably not…

The rental companies will deliver to any villa -- not a problem, at all.

DO NOT USE JUNIE'S CAR RENTAL. We just got home from Anguilla and received a charge for $500. That's in addition to the original $200+ charge we received for renting a car for the week.
We called Junie right away and he made up some excuse about a damage to the car. We said that the car was never damaged and he finally agreed to credit us the $500. This guy is so shady; he probably does this to other tourists thinking that he can get away with it (at least sometimes).
We checked the bank and he still hasnt credited us. In addition, we've been charged numerous bank fees for overdraft. This is getting to be a nightmare. So just wanted to warn everyone else.

We rented from Ronnie Bryan. Great guy. He delivered the car to our hotel and then we left it parked at the ferry dock when we left.

Here is his website:

We had a similar experiance with Hertz - they delivered at our villa, and we left the car parked at the ferry, keys in the glove compartment. Worked great!

We've used several car rentals on Anguilla but I find Avis to be the best deal. They are in the Valley.
