car rental
Two years ago we used a local man for car rental who met us in the parking lot of the airport. Our service was great and very reasonable. We cannot locate our records to find out the name of this rental company. Does anyone have any information?

I assume you are talking about St. Martin. Many rental companies will meet you at the airport, the one that I use every year is Unity great cars and great service. You can e-mail Unity at [email protected]. You will not be disappointed with the service.

Or were you talking about St. Thomas? We always use Dependable Car Rental there and this same guy always picks us up at the airport. Their rates are reasonable and we couldn't ask for better service.
And no, I am not the Jerry Jones who owns the Dallas Cowboys. But I refuse to change my name just because he's famous.

Message for DTHester:
Would you please respond back to these silly posts and tell everyone what damn island you are talking about. Seems no one really knows and your original post was not much help. Some think St. Martin. Others think St. Thomas or St. Croix. Someone even suggested a rental company but like you, they didn't say which damn island it was on. As far as I'm concerned you can walk buddy.

Whichever island you go to, beware of something. Make sure you take a very good, detailed look at your vehicle. Notice even if there is a paint mark on the bumper. We used Best Deal (I think that was the name) in St. Maarten. It was dark by the time we arrived. The vehicle was not ready, so two guys brought our party up to the place we were staying and dropped the vehicle off later that night. We never noticed anything the matter. However, when we returned the vehicle, they said that someone had hit us - there was a little paint on the front bumper and the rubber lining was loose in one spot. We never noticed these things, as they were so minor, but the car rental company wanted to charge us almost $200 to fix it! I contested the matter, and my charge card company took care of the matter, and I wasn't charged. But it was one headache I shouldn't have had to deal with. So, check your vehicle very carefully! Also, make sure the vehicle is on FULL when you return it or they charge a ridiculous fee of about $4.00 per gallon to fill the tank.
