Cap Juluca with Kids?
We are going to Cap Juluca to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday. Between us and my dad, we have a four year old boy, a four year old girl, two seven year old boys, and a ten year old boy. All of them are going with us.
Has anyone out there experienced Cap Juluca with kids? Any recommendations for making this as pleasant a trip as possible - - especially on where/when to eat with kids? Anyone tried the kid's club? Is it any good? My two (the 10 year old and one 7 year old) usually don't like kid's clubs. If they don't go, are there any recommendations on what is best to do?
Many thanks in advance!!!
Anita and Rich

The kids club was very well run, and the activities fun for little ones. The 4 year olds will probably love it; the 7 year old will only want to go if there are other kids his/her age, but it's not geared for a 10 year old at all. My son attended the kids' club for three years running, but it is sparsely attended some years, and is most fun when there are at least 2-3 other kids in the same age bracket.
If they don't want to go to the kids' club, don't worry - just make sure they're in the shade, and give them sand toys. The staff at CJ is very nice to the kids. The pool, which is almost always empty, is fun in the pm (but there is no kiddie pool.)
As for restaurants, my kids loved Straw Hat best of all, because they could sit and watch the fish while waiting for the meal to arrive.

Thanks so much for that information about the kids' program. It is very helpful. Did your kids eat on the property at all? Did they have a children's menu? I'm so scared mine won't eat anything. They aren't the best eaters in the world!

If you're looking for a trip to a playground, you may want to visit Malliouhana. There is a daily charge to use the pirate ship playground in the Children's Center. The Bistro adjacent to it and a pool have a great kids' lunch menu. It's not far from Cap Juluca. Their web site is www.malliouhana.com if you want to have a look. Suggest you call ahead to confirm they'll take nonresidents.
Also, check with Cap Juluca Concierge to see if Junior is still doing a kids' day out on his Glassbottom Boat. At one time he was doing something with lunch at Gwen's, but don't know it that's still a go.

Rich, George's (the casual restaurant at CJ) has an extensive children's menu, and you can even order off it for room service. ALR's advice about the Mali playgound is very good. If your kids were any younger I wouldn't recommend it (it is "supervised" but little kids are likely to be pushed around by the older ones, and some of the equipment (waterslide, etc.) are too difficult for the under 4s.)
