Bucuti in Aruba

I want to surprise my family with a trip next feb during the presidents week. My husband and I are in our 50's and our daughters & husbands are mid to late 20's. I'm looking for a laid back beach atmosphere away from too many children( my daughter & I are teachers).I have been reading about Bucuti-Tara suites, sounds nice and in our price range for 5-6 days. Is it suitable for our age range? Will the 20's be out of place or will Mom & Dad? Thanks for any feedback!

I do not believe you will be out of place at all. Personally, I love the Bucuti… I’ve stayed in the Tara wing 4 different times. I absolutely love the rooms as well as the view from the room balconies. I also think it’s a pretty good bargain considering what you get for the price.

The resorts biggest drawbacks are the pool (it’s small.. but I’ve heard they recently remodeled it) and the restaurant. The restaurant is just not great on an island with many other great places to eat.

The surf at the Bucuti can also be a tad rough at times… but Eagle Beach is fantastic. I’ve stayed on Palm Beach (Marriott) and I much prefer Eagle Beach. It’s much wider and much more quiet.

You should be very happy at the Bucuti. They do not encourage children. While the pool is small, the beach is very large and it's beautiful there. We want to stay at the Bucuti our next trip to Aruba. I prefer the sea to the pool.

Thanks for your input. They offer a dine around plan at $35 a person per night for dinnner, is that worthwhile? I haven't been to Aruba in 30 years so I no idea about dining options!

Not sure where the dine around takes you. The dining in Aruba is excellent. There are many great places to eat at all prices.
Go to aruba-bb.com This is a travel forum dedicated to aruba. You can find so much info there. Many of them helped me plan my trip there two years ago. They are all big Bucuti fans. I stayed at the Marriott and I enjoyed it very much.
Have fun.

Just an FYI - the beach that the Bucuti resort is on has topless sunbathing. I don't how comfortable you would be with that is you are going with your kids.
