Blamona question
Hello Blamona,
I hope you are enjoying your time in Provo.
I was wondering how the construction is going near the Sibonne? Can you give me an update?
You are a wealth of information and I thank you.

not blamona, however, I understand that The Mandalay has only erected a small model of the condos that will be built. It it on the side closer to Hemingways. But was not disruptive at all. The ground breaking of the huge project has not happened yet, maybe this summer. Not sure.

stella-thanks!
Ajax is correct, not much built yet, there is the small building next to Hemmingways at the Sands. I don't know when they will break ground. There is also a place being built behind Sibonne called Lucaya, they have not broken ground.
Grace Bay road is a mess between Royal West Indies, down to almost the Saltmills Plaza. I think it should be paved within the next 2 weeks, I will try to keep everyone posted. After this section is paves, the roads will be nice!!! The rest is already done. There is also curbing on both sides of Grace Bay road, I think this will keep down future potholes.
Seven Stars and Regent Grand are huge construction sites, but on the beach, especially in front of Sibonne, it's not noticable at the time. Sommerset is almost finished, basically paint, and is absolutely gorgeous!

Another construction question...We'll be in the Tyler Guest House (on Grace Bay Beach between Coral Gardens and Beaches) early in April. I would really appreciate any information possible about construction in that area that might impact on what we hope will be a peaceful holiday. Many thanks.

Blamona,
Thanks for the information. Actually, the house that we'll be renting is one of three on the same property, so it is one of the group of houses that you know of. We're excited, since although we have visited the USVI and Jamaica, this will be our first time in T&C. Thanks again.

last 3 days were a little yucky. Very windy, but the sun popped out a little, and it rained at night. (Much needed!)
Prizen, there is a little construction behind Tyler house, but I don't think it will affect you. The houses are closer to the beach, on a beautiful stretch. Trust me on this, you won't even know it's going on!
TC is completely different from VI and jamaica. It's flat, dry, and desert looking. The beaches are incredible! Blinding white sand, and the most beautiful water you will see in the world! (Okay, it does tie with a couple of places)

Thank you Blamona and AJax!
I'm starting to count days now....51 days to go.
I have been reading all the posts on several forums for months now on TCI and I'm ready to enjoy the beautiful beach and water everyone is talking about!
Glad no new construction has started near Sibonne that will bother us. Noise doesn't bother me but it does my husband a little.
Give us another update before you leave the island at the end of month Blamona if anything changes.
Thank you again

I am also on Provo right now and there is NOTHING going on at Mandalay Bay. Things move so slowly here, I wouldn't be surprised if it was two years before ground is broken.
It is almost two years since the buildings were knocked down for Seven Stars and there is nothing above ground that is new there yet. Mandalay Bay is so high priced, I would guess it will be a slow sell. So I don't think visitors should be so worried about "all the noise and construction!"
