Villas on Provo

I'm interested in 2 different villas, one in the Grace Bay area & the other on Chalk Sound. I plan to have a car. Which area would be best to stay in? Are there any good restaurants near the Chalk Sound/Silly Creek area? If not, how long does it take to drive to the restaurant area? Thanks.
p.s. ATMs on Provo? I've heard that only local accounts can be accessed.

Depending on your exact location, Grace Bay area would generally seem better - an outstanding beach. Just watch out for nearby construction. Chalk Sound area would be quieter.

I don't recall any restaurants around Chalk Sound but it's a short drive to where they are: Leeward Hwy, Turtle Cove, Grace Bay - 10 to 20 minutes in most cases.

My ATM card from the US worked fine in the first ATM I found (Ports of Call).

Thanks for your reply. Are you familiar with the Palm Villa in the Grace Bay area? It's one of 2 (the other's called Coral) on a small property. I'm not sure exactly where it's located, so don't know if it'd be near any construction.

there are definetly no restaurants on the south (chalk sound side) side of the island. 10-20 mins is a good estimate of drive time to the - well everything. there are a few rests. on the main highway but closest would be turtle cove marina with 1/2 doz places. the hotels all have restaurants with many others in their vacinity.
you may prefer the grace bay location but if not - just before you leave the silly creek road (turning left towards town) there are 2 good beaches. to access taylor bay beach (very shallow -great for kids) turn in at the sign to ocean point villas and right just before the pavement starts. (dick clark's house is to the far right when looking out into the bay). or there is a small unmarked road (the last right before the turn to town) that goes into sopadilla bay beach. taylor has the softest sand i've ever felt!!
not familiar with your villa but would love to know their web as i too would rather get a house than stay at hotels.

Sorry, don't know where Palm Villa is. "Grace Bay area" is kind of ambiguous because Grace Bay is about 11 miles long.

Sapodilla Bay is a nice spot, esp. when there are big waves on the north side of the island, but it's too shallow to do much swimming. Took me a few tries to find the access road in between mansions.

Looks like it depends on what you want. Quiet & seclusion or proximity to restaurants & shops. Beaches sound good either area. There are lots of houses online, Virginia. Just Google the area you're interested in. Thanks for your help.

cdt - the only reason we ever found sopadilla or taylor is becaue we stayed in ocean point villas right next door. there is another great beach further east called long bay beach and its even harder to find!
