Biobay tours
My wife & I will be staying in Old San Juan, and we would like to go on a bio bay tour (Vieques or Fajardo). Does anyone know of a reputable company that has roundtrip transportation from San Juan to either bio bay?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Ecoaction tours had transportation for the one in Fajardo listed on their website, which was gone the last time I looked for it (which made me too nervous to even consider using them). Not sure beyond that, but your hotel may be able to assist with that.

The ONLY company I was able to find that would do a day (or i should say night) trip from San Juan to Vieques Bio Bay is East Winds Excursions. They seem VERY reputable and although their boats launch from east coast PR marina, they say they can arrange for transport from SJ and back (which they claim is about a 45 minute drive) - their trips leave marina at 5pm and return at 10pm.
The only issue is they take you to biobay by boat, and if you want adventure, it's nicer by kayak ... they also include a dinner on vieques which you likely don't need but the bio bay is MAGIC! unlike anything you've seen!
here's their web site:

I can't in good conscience recommend EcoAction Tours. We just went on Wednesday and arrived 15-20 minutes early for our 8 PM kayaking reservation but were told that we'd have to take the 9 PM tour because "those people got here earlier" (a large group of
students from a hotel). They offered no apology or further explanation, possibly due to a language barrier, but they had seemed fluent enough over e-mail and phone. Any customers who asked them about the time change were openly ignored as they shuffled papers and answered cell phones, which made the angry ones angrier and did nothing to help the situation.
The guides themselves were nice guys, but seemed rushed, probably because
they were forced to lead four tours when they normally have two (at 6 and 8
PM).
The bay itself is of course amazing, and I recommend doing that for sure,
but you'll want to pick a different company.
