I was going to go snorkeling with my wife with Brendel's in January 1995. It was on our last day and the weather was pretty rough with big waves. I was suiting up but saying to myself, "I hope these nitwits cancel us." However, I wasn't going to be a coward and chicken out, of course. Lucky me, Brendel's had the good sense to cancel us before setting out.

Yes, I can see how Brendal would cancel a trip due to weather. He's a lifelong Bahamian and is very conscientious, and knows to respect the reefs around GTC. He catches spiny lobster and serves lunch buffets on the remote Manjack Cay, with fresh grouper or snapper he catches along with the snorkelers. The man who suffered from the Barracuda attack is OK, but was hospitalized. Brendal was so shaken by by incident, because they run into Barracuda on every snorkeling trip, and its never happened before. Brendal offered to pay all hospital bills, which included stitches, medications to ease the pain, MD's fees, prescription meds for several months to insure no bacterial infections crop up, and the cost of the nurse assistance as well. Total cost of the medical bill on Abaco...$64! Don't wear any shiny necklaces when snorkeling. By the way, do you know which Hollywood movie scene was filmed on Manjack Cay? Someone said a ruined house from (Floyd) was built by the Hollywood technicians as the backdrop. Robert

Just out of couriosity I checked out Green Turtle Cay as a possibility.It may be a toss up between Bimini/ GTC cost wise. The airfare is actually less to fly to GTC.
Would you still choose Bimini hands down? The snorkeling/ beaches sound pretty good.The Green Turtle Club & Bluff House look beautiful.They seem to have some good offers for OCT.

Lizzybird; No, if the cost were the same and I didn't want a little variety after being in the Abaco's many times, I would definately chose GTC over Bimini for a choice, without considering the other factors. Robert
