wanted a place to snorkel in st. thomas. we have limited time since we are on a cruise ship and don't want to miss the ships departure. How is Magans Bay - heard it was not far from the ship? Anyplace else that we could get back to the ship without a problem?

magens bay is beautiful, but not very good for snorkeling; very little structure/flora to hold fish. secret harbor would be least crowded w. large rocks on both ends of the beach where you can see plenty of fish. sapphire beach would be a good visit also, but not quite as much variety as s. harbor. and typically more people to be found at sapphire than at s. harbor. coki will always offer lots of fish, but also lots of tourists--especially when cruise ships are in. ALL beaches on stt are w/in ~ 30 min of the cruise ship harbor because the island is not very big.
