Best Islands in the World / Rated
I'm a mountain man and virgin of island hopping (about the only thing Big Daddy is a virgin of) but I would now like to try the islands.
Interested in hearing your opinions of the best islands in the world. My lear jet leaves nothing off limits.

If you had a Lear jet you wouldn't be coming here for advice, but since I'm sure you're just trying to avoid making a boring post, I'll suggest that the Caribbean offers most anything you could want since each of the islands is so different.
The problem is it's really impossible to make a "best list" of islands since different people appreciate different things in a vacation destination.
Best beach, best food, best shopping?
Activities, nightlife, big luxury resorts, quiet villas, mountainscapes?
No one island has it all, so you need to figure out what you want, then match your desires to the right island.

i understand, just interested in what makes certain islands more intriguing from one persons perspective. I truly have always done mountain or cultural vacations but am just starting to look at islands.
thanks for your tips in my other post

From a couple who have traveled all over the world....we love the caribbean! Our personal favorites:
Anguilla-fine dining and the best beaches, very friendly locals.
Virgin Gorda-great beaches, very laid back, spectacular scenery.
Peter Island-great beaches, own private island, Robinson Curuso luxury.
Providenciales-great beaches and snorkling, more Americanized and one of the easiest to get to.
Tortola-great base to island hop in the BVI's and to check in on some world famous bars.
Harbour Island-the way the caribbean (Really the bahamas) used to be, spectacular beaches, laid back and quiet.
