I'm not impressed with Fourways; it's got loyal fans, but for the life of me I can't figure out why. Ascot's is our fave go-to choice for special nights out. And I would factor a little over a half-hour for the Southampton to Tucker's Point trip, again assuming no traffic issues.

Well I am a big fan of Ascots and Blu, so I think you will be happy with your choices. I love Fourways. Haven't been in about two years but have never been disappointed. I often stay at the cottage colony there and breakfast is lovely.

I didn't mean to offend I was just saying that for basic accomodations Tucker's lower range is higher then most others. Then again I haven't seen any more that what's is shown on websites. I'll try not to make similar statements in the future.

No doubt about it, Tucker's Point is on the very high end of costs. It is brand new and billing itself as Bermuda's only five star.
I hope you don't think you gave any offense to me, absolutely not! I love Bermuda and when I am not there I think about it...so any chance to talk Bermuda is good!

OK good... Would hate to lose a source of info! Especially now. I was planning on making this trip a suprise but due to circumstances beyond my control it no longer a secret. My wife actually brought up the idea again and seems to be more interested. So I will probably be asking for more help as I'm sure she will have questions.

You can certainly count on the Bermuda regulars on this board to do all we can to help you plan a perfect trip. You have the hard part done, picking the right island! From here on out you will be spoiled for choice.

For your anniversary I would go to The Reefs. You won't be disappointed. We loved their MAP plan. The breakfast was excellent and the dinners were amazing. We have been to Bermuda 4 times and The Reefs is our favorite place. If you are interested in The Reefs, I would call now for reservations, they book up far in advance. It is easier to call the hotel directly because they can tell you what days are available while you are on the phone with them. Next week we are going to Pompano Beach Club for the first time because we like to try different places plus the availability for rooms at The Reefs was extremely limited for the days we wanted to go. You may want to look into Pompano because they are next to a golf course. Bermuda is a great choice for an anniversary.

A little progress this weekend.. After discussing "The List" with the wife, we've decided to take the Southhampton and Hamilton Princess off the list. We agreed that we both would prefer something smaller and something on the ocean. Im interested to read beagles take on Pompano. Looks like places along the southern shore have an inside track with the wife.

stevekos, I stayed at Pompano a year ago. I had a one bedroom suite with kitchenette on a slight rise immediately next to the golf course. It had the most gorgeous view over the ocean. I had to drag myself off the patio daily. The rooms are comfortably furnished and relatively casual. They are not high end luxury as you might find at Cambridge Beaches or Tucker's Point, but they are very nice. The bed and bath linens were very good quality and the bed was quite comfortable. the rooms were kept spotless.
It is an easy walk to the Railway Trail or on down to the ferry, but the hotel will shuttle you if you prefer. Service is the name of the game here. They go the extra mile to make you feel very special. I loved the bar area, small but very friendly. I did meet most of the other guests and enjoyed the comraderie of the place, but never sacrificed my privacy. I would highly recommend it.

Thanks! Since im hoping to get a round of golf in, being so close is a temptation I can't refuse. Especially when it its Port Royal! Ocean View is a major plus!!!! I also found out that my sister-in-law was in Bermuda earlier this year for a conference, not sure where she stayed but i hope to get a review soon. My wife has not asked my which one's I like. If she did I would have to say Pompano and Reefs are in the lead. Based on quality recommendations!

Im letting the pros break-in the redesigned course then it should be ready for me. Im not sure if i'll have to declare all the dirt and turf that will be all over my clubs after I play. But setting golf up is a little further down the list. Though I keep trying to move it up a few spots, it doesn't usually make the conversation... YET !

Just a suggestion - but my pedicure and massage at Willowstream Spa at the Fairmont Southampton takes about the same amount of time as it takes my husband to play 18 holes at the par-3 course there. We meet at the bar in the lobby afterwards for a nice glass of champagne. I'm seeing a compromise in your future...

We've done that at other places. I'd play some golf early and meet her for lunch afterwards. Then we still have the day to explore. It seems to be a plan that hasn't failed yet. Some im sure we will give it a shot atleast once down there.
