Bermuda Hotels

Planning a girls weekend in Bermuda the first week in August celebrating our 50th birthdays. We prefer to be on or very close to the beach and away from where the cruise ships come in. Considering: Grotto Bay Beach, The Reefs, and Elbow Beach Resort. I normally like to stay in a vrbo, but couldn't find many on the island. Are some areas better to stay at than others (Elbow Beach vs. St George, for example)? Any recommendations and comments greatly appreciated. Looking forward to exploring the beautiful island! Thanks!!

Grotto Bay is the most child friendly of your choices. Elbow and the Reefs are well located for sightseeing on the island and have the prettiest beaches. They are the more adult of your choices. They both have nice spas.
Happy birthday. I cannot imagine a nicer place to celebrate.

Whole house rentals are available through www.bermudarentals.com. It is a very reliable service.

I am only basing my response on anecdotal knowledge, but generally Bermuda is a very safe destination. Rentals come with a warning to lock doors and windows. I would feel comfortable with a rental. I travel to Bermuda at least once a year, usually alone. I have never felt threatened or uncomfortable.
Many of the rentals are reviewed on Trip Advisor.

The Reefs had some larger condo like rooms a few years ago. My brother stayed in a 3 bedroom condo on site. I know they built partial ownership or time share type of properties which would give you some space but still allow you to have the resort amenities.
We loved the Reefs when we stayed there!
