Bequia Firefly/ Spring Hotel

Hi , does anyone have any insight to this new hotel . It was previously Spring Hotel but has been bought by Firefly Mustique. Is it a good location ,I haven't been to Bequia before but have visited Firefly Mustique and that was so lovely. Any input from the grenadines experts welcome . Thanks all.

OOPS. Another inquiry . According to the website -spring on bequia - it looks like the 8 refurbed rooms are on 3 levels.Which to go for? There is so little info on the web that any input would help.

Redgirl: I visited the hotel on my day trip to Bequia. It is in a quiet area of the island and the beach on a coconut grove so it's windswept and unmanicured. The views are lovely and it's very peaceful. There is no night life however, you would have to go into town for that. It's about a 10 minute drive to town which doesn't sound like much but the roads and the driving on Bequia are a bit tricky. Judging from the room price hikes, it looks as though they are trying to create a similar hotel but the ambience is totally different. On Mustique, the Firefly is THE place to be, on Bequia it would be out of the way. I know that's not a lot of good info but it's all I have.

Thanks bosoco , from the info I could gather I could see it was quiet ,I want to experience Bequia and have a little comfort when it comes to sleeping .Some of the rooms appear to come with a mini moke , I wonder how hairy the driving is? Are we talking Tortola ( which I can manage ) or St Lucia ( which I consider quite hairy!!!) Still intrigued by this hotel tho and firefly's involvement. Any opinions fodorites ?

Redgirl, the drive from Port Elizabeth to and from Spring Bay is okay. However, getting to Friendship Bay and some of the other hilly points can be hairier than Tortola because the roads are so much more narrow.
