Dieppe Bay is the black sand beach near the Golden Lemon. It's pretty calm as far as I remember and will probably be quiet... just a few tourists from the Golden Lemon.
My favourite beach on SKB would be Cockleshell.

Agree, Dieppe Bay is a black sand beach with calm waters. It is not a particularily attractive beach.
The best beaches on St. Kitts are located on the Southern Pennisula and the ones on the Caribbean side will have the calmest waters. Some beaches like Cockelshell, South Friars and South Frigate Bay have several beach bars, chair/umbrella rentals and other facilituies. The other beaches such as White House, Sand Bank Bay, North Friars and Major's Bay are less visited and are devoid of amenities.
Note: there are no true "white sand" beaches on St. Kitts. Most have a browinish or greyish tint - sand color ranges from the black sand at Dieppe to light beige at Cockelshell.

My favorite beach was also Cockleshell, and after that I really liked S. Friars. S. Frigate was a little busy for my taste except for at the cocktail hour--we enjoyed going there for sundowners and in fact it was the beach where I first saw the green flash.
We walked out on the beach at Dieppe Bay when we stopped at the Golden Lemon for lunch on our island circumnavigation day. It was not a beach that is tended regularly like the ones at resorts, so it was strewn with sea grass and everything else one might expect. The water was also looking a little wild that day, so even though I was wearing a bathing suit under my clothes I didn't go in the water.

sassy_cat - if by "Beeman" you mean the fellow who is the beekeeper than yes, I know him, as almost everyone on Nevis does.
FYI - Lion's Beach Bar has been a fixture on Cockelshell for at least 9 years that I know of, Raggae Beach Bar has been there about 2 years and the new restaurant/bar (the name escapes me) opened within the last few months.

Yes, I mean the beekeeper, Q! My DH and I used to hang out with Beeman around 20 years ago. Like most volunteers we went home eventually but he stayed of course. He's quite a character.
I've emailed him to let him know we'll be in St. Martin & Anguilla next month in case there's a chance of a reunion.
Please say 'Hi' from the fellow Brits that used to live on Sprott St, Basseterre if you can.

My favourite beach is Cockleshell!
There are three beach bars to choose from:
Reggae Beach Bar
Lion's
Spice Mill
I love "liming" at Lion's. Delicious ribs, friendly service, breathtaking view of Nevis, and a wicked rum punch!
